Prince/Princess Party
If you are throwing a princess party, you’ll want to play some royal games. Tailor these ideas to fit the age range of the children attending your party. For little ones (2 and under) consider just having fun princess tiaras and wands for them to play with rather than a structured game.
Party Games
This is a classic game that all kids love. Instead of a donkey, use a candle! I love the quality of this game. The pin the tail on the donkey games at stores like Party City are made of thin plastic and ring of cheap, cheap, cheap. This is a very nice one that will keep and you won't be embarrassed to give it to a friend to use at her party!
Royal Treasures. This is a great treasure hunt game that works well for an indoor or outdoor party. For this game you can hide a treasure chest somewhere and send the children to find it. The person who finds the item gets a prize. Then have everyone fill their own treat bags with 5 royal treasures. Fun filling can be items like gold necklaces, rings, chocolate foil wrapped coins, gold wrapped candies, crowns, wands, rings and more.
Prince, Prince, King. This game is a twist to the classic game of "Duck, Duck, Goose". In this game, the little ones sit in a circle facing each other. One child is “it” and walks around the circle. As they walk around, they tap the children’s heads and say whether they are a “prince or princess” or a “King or Queen”. Once someone is picked as a “Queen” they get up and try to chase “it” around the circle. The goal is to tap that person before they are able sit down in the “Queen” spot. If the child is not able to do this, they become “it” for the next round and play continues. If they do tap the “it” person, the person tagged has to sit in the center of the circle. Then the Queen becomes "it" for the next round. The person in the middle can’t leave until another person is tagged and they are replaced.

Party Crafts
One of the best craft ideas for a prince/princess party is to make your own crowns or tiaras. There are many ways to do this, and a visit to your local craft store can help. The crowns or tiaras can be cut from poster board ahead of time and then decorated at the party. Some great things to use for decoration include ribbon, glitter pens, markers, and stick-on gems. If you are not up for cutting out the crowns, you can also find many foam crowns and tiaras that can be decorated as well. It is so much fun seeing all of the children marching around wearing the tiaras and crowns they have created themselves at the party.
Another idea for a craft is to have children decorate their own magic wands with glitter, stickers and ribbon.
It is also good to have some coloring activities for the children to do if they have finished their craft before the others children. Printed coloring pages of castles, princesses, etc that are found online or copied from a coloring book work well.
I recently found a cute project using recycle milk jugs. If you have the time to collect them, try this project.
